I’m a writer in Pittsburgh. My début novel, The Bend of the World, is newly out from Liveright, an imprint of W.W. Norton. Elsewhere and otherwise, I work for the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust and manage the Benedum Center for the Performing Arts. Sometimes I ride a bike, and once a month I pretend to be an expert on wine in front of a lot of people. I have a beagle, and I can recite every line of dialogue from The Big Lebowksi and Jurrasic Park. I like Catholic convert novelists, The Book of Genesis, Verdi, and Lowell George.
